We visited
this restaurant on December 27, 2004 at 7:30 pm with a party of 9. This country style restaurant is located off Kingston Pike near West Town Mall in Knoxville, TN. This restaurant is notable for its steaks and free peanuts,
which you shell and eat while waiting and also at your table. Dinners should beware of the shells on the floor when
moving from the waiting area to their table. Only four of our party of nine participated in rating this establishment.
Additional information on this restaurant chain can be found at their web site at Texas Roadhouse.

The food
was generally well prepared and served by friendly staff. The steak portions
were somewhat smaller than expected; however, on our way out the display case near the kitchen showed the relative size of
the various steak cuts. Make sure you get the size steak you order - one of our
dinners had to return their steak for a larger size of the same cut. The steaks
were very good. The overall atmosphere is consistent with country-style dinning. The restaurant was very busy and noisy. We
had to wait about 30 to 45 minute for first available seating. Unfortunately,
the non-smoking section was not available and we were seated in the smoking section. The
smoking section appeared to be in one area of the restaurant and was not physically separated from the rest of the facility.
Our table has just been wiped down before we were seated, but had not been cleaned
very well – one of the seats had something spilled in it and the floor under the table was wet. The waiter seemed to go out of his way to be friendly and accommodating, but because of the size of our
party we were crowded together in a corner and had to pass our food to the end of our long chain of tables instead of being
served. This restaurant is not very well equipped for serving groups as large
as ours. If you have a party of 4 to maybe 6, one of the many booths could accommodate
this size group. One of our group also indicated that the restrooms (labeled
outhouses) could have been cleaner.
