We visited Agave Azul Mexican Grill on October 29, 2004 at about 7:00 pm
with a party of 4. This restaurant offers the typical assortment of Mexican style
foods. For a preview of their menu, visit their listing in the East Tennessee Dinning web site at Agave Azul. The name sake of the restaurant, Agave Azul, means blue agave. The blue agave is a succulent that is grown in the dry
high country of western Mexico and is the primary ingredient of premium tequilas. After its name sake, the Agave Azul Mexican Grill is known for its excellent Margaritas.

The Agave Azule offers a fairly wide variety of Mexican food. Unfortunately
I made the mistake of ordering steak, which was overcooked and tough. Some of
our other diners; however, selected more traditional Mexican dishes, which were much better.
We were situated in a booth near the kitchen, which was distracting, to say the least.
The restaurant was quite busy and very noisy; making it difficult to carry on a normal conversation. The restrooms were located near the bar in the smoking section of the restaurant and were very dirty and
not well maintained. If you are in the mood for a traditional Mexican meal or
are out on the town to meet a few friends for drinks, then the Agave Azule deserves a look.
We found their Margaritas to be excellent and quite potent.
